  1. Not a Saint but it’s a shame that this video didn’t include any photos of the Chocolate boxes at The Dell with their elevated standing. Also when discussing the Double Decker stand at Filbert Street one of the photos appeared to show supporters sitting on the (uncompleted) roof of the Double Decker (7.06)

  2. I will never understand why English Stadiums are so completely misshapen. It's even worse with the old ones. They just like every Stand was designed by another Architect and build by a completely different Company. Like "Oh let's put an entirely different Roof on this one that sticks out completely from all the others for no apparent Reason. And let's add another level on the Main Stand yet completely neglect to do the same thing on the parallel one. Just… why?

  3. It's not correct to say there was local opposition to expanding Highbury. The problem it's a Grade 2 listed building and that means destroying the East and West stands is illegal. You can modify the interior of a Grade 2 listed building but doing anything to alter the exterior will get you nicked.

  4. I think you’ve been misinformed about The Etihad, Man City.
The stadium was built for the Commonwealth Games.
Manchester City Council ‘Own’ it. MCFC are just tenants!

  5. interesting video thanks. Having looked at the comments I think it is funny how they love their old dated stadiums . because is it not the supporters that make the atmosphere

  6. I remember the only game I ever got to attend at Upton Park, which happened to be the International Debut of a certain Wayne Rooney, it was a Friendly between England and Australia. In one of Sven Goren Ericsson's famous subbing the entire 11, it wasn't a good match for England as they lost 3-1 to the Aussies. To rub salt in it, some of the Aussie fans chanted "just like the Cricket,"

  7. Main rd Manchester City does NOT hold the record for an English club playing at their home stadium. For two and a half years Tottenham Hotspur home stadium was at Wembley where they recorded a home attendance of over 85,000. Officially the highest home attendance of any English club.
