  1. Overly simplified by carragher to compare what he says is a “defensive team” in west ham versus alluding to Roy Keane’s Manu being an all attacking unit.

People seem to forget that Keane’s Manu were an exceptional defensive unit. Sure people used to joke that the best back 4 in the league were Beckham, Scholes, Keane and Giggs. People only seem to remember the last 5 mins of those games during ‘Fergie Time’ when they would batter their opposition. The rest of the time manu were very compact.

  2. That’s ridiculous, there are only so many chances per game, if Rice starts getting more goals, Odegaard, Martinelli, Saka, Nketiah, Trossard or Jesus get less goals.

Then Carragher throws their names up on the board. Let’s look at Rice’s chance creation or Goals vs Xg. That’ll tell us whether, as a midfielder, he’s contributing to creating chances and, when he does take a shot, does he score.

  3. These kinda video really reflects badly on arsenal fans that will lap this up, essien was another level to the likes of rice, I’m sure some arsenal fans are sensible and realists this comparison is utter 💩

  4. Difficult to compare Rice to Keane/Vieira as he’s at a relatively early stage in his career and only just joined a big club where the pressure/demands/scrutiny is different to what he’s used to at West Ham. We haven’t yet reached a point where we can make a meaningful comparison.

  5. These guys sound like Roy Kean was better than Essien. I’m yet to find out what Roy Kean was ever good at beside kicking legs and trying to act tough. Picking a fight with Vieira does not give him the license to Kean to be put in the same same sentence as Vieira footballwise.

Declan Rice on the other hand, all of a sudden is been compared to Michael Essien after a game against Crystal Palace. These British pundits must wake up and smell the coffee that Thomas Partey is still around and he’s the best midfielder at Arsenal not plain rice. Stop the hype
