The Botman counter argument is, do you really want to be booking in a transfer for a 4.5 defender when Newcastle's fixtures turn? I think its also important to remember the objective of this game is get the most points, not to necessarily have the cheapest bench possible. So if you think having a couple of good rotating subs will ultimately get you the most points over the first few weeks, then go with that. Good to hear different opinions though.

Great pod guys, so much content out there, but this one always stands out, love Baker's take on anything.
Love what you guys do. Idea for a video. Talk about players last year's versus their three years average, was it natural variance, team improvement, positioni g or were they improving, regressing? Then make a points prediction for next year.
Love to hear those opinions on guys like Rash, bruno, Sterling, etc.. could do that for 10 or 20 players, and that would be an interesting video!
Remember when everyone went Trent and Cancelo at the beginning of last season. And they peddled the ol, its a midfielder with cleansheets shtick. Then neither got either, and everyone panicked. 8m is a lot. The fixtures aren't great for cleansheets either Chelsea and Newcastle away in the first 3. Followed up by Villa. Especially as you would imagine it would take some time for the new starting 11 to gel. Personally a wait and see player. Maybe for the first wildcard

Almost pointless doing drafts right now. So many transfers to be completed this week when all international break players return.
James Tradford to Burnley could shake up the gk department, no one knows what's happening with Kane. Too many unknowns yet.
Great listening to Danny and you guys on your thoughts, can't wait though till more of the big teams get their pre seasons going and our drafts see more tinkering
