Problem is with the threat of the saudi league just offering players giant pots of gold, the Prem and UEFA can't really risk capping player wages. As soon as a big player still in their prime goes there, it could be a tipping point and there could be a massive shift in football.

Whats the update on Man city getting relegated? Money is the reason Liverpool can never reach City's level ever!

UEFA should have implemented this years ago across and forced all european teams to be capped in what they spend on salaries and every club in the UEFA confederation has to follow this. All the club competitions in Europe (including the EPL and Champions league) are tedious, just purely based on spending power.

However seeing as Manchester City broke FFP rules and got away with I imagine the big clubs in the EPL will break this rule and get away with it aswell.

Sadly the first thing all chairmen will do is look for loopholes…. You just ask Todd Boelhy and his 8 year contracts!!

This benefits the owners, with increasing football revenues they should be paying their players and staff more for their success, instead the club owners will keep the difference.

It works in Rugby.. Leinsters best player Johnny sexton was capped at a salary he didnt like. He threw the toys out of the pram and bluffed a move to Paris. Leinster wouldn't budge on the money and he left. Not one single player after that played hard ball with the club. Sexton came home after two dreadful years with his tail between his legs on less money that he left.

There should be a £80 mil per player cap and £160 mil per window cap across all leagues in Europe.

Don't need a salary cap, just need to actually enforce ffp.

Players should not be capped, its the clubs and institutions who should be capped, a poor boy from a poor family can become rich following the football dream, why ruin that
