  1. I think they should have 12 players in the premier league. There's always about 12 players that deserve spots. The top woman deserves a spot as well. I also believe the format needs to be adjusted again as well. The current format isn't the best.

  2. Mvg
    Wright
    Price
    Smith
    Wade
    Cross
    Humphries
Last spot is very hard, it can be Cullen, Clayton, Dvd, maybe Chizzy…
We will see after World Championship, I think results there will be really important. And maybe Masters too

  3. Don't want to be too chauvinistic but I think Dirk really has a great game to watch and would be a great addition to the Premier League. Unfortunately he is bound to meet MVG this upcoming Worlds and to get into the PL I think he needs an outstanding performance. I think that if he would get to the final he is likely in, but I don't think he win against MVG. So no DVD. Aspinall and Humphries seem good choices. I think Anderson is a sure goner, but not sure about Cullen. I think Wade is more likely to not make it. He has a somewhat dull game and hasn't performed great this year.

  4. Wade and Clayton are in as much trouble as Cullen imo, I think cross gets in over one of them as well as the 2 you mentioned. Then that last slot is a wildcard. Wouldn't surprise me if ando has a bonkers worlds run again and sneaks in. That man is nothing if not stubborn and he could just ando his way into the semis. Unlikely but you just get that feeling that something is up for grabs.

  5. Last Year contenders:
Top 4 (Wright, Price, MvG, Smith) are locked in.
I think Cullen as runner-up will be rather safe.
Clayton and Wade will be questionable. They have to deliver at the World Championship. I think Clayton might have the edge here right now.
Anderson will be out 100%. It's sad, but he's regressing and hasn't shown a lot lately.

    Newcomers:
I'm pretty sure Humphries and Noppert will be in. Both played a fantastic year and climbed the Order of Merit.
I see outsider chances for Cross, but it would take a good run at the WC or a big blunder by Wade/Clayton to get in.

I liked the new format last year, but I wouldn't mind, if they somehow expand it to 10 players. The competition is getting stronger and stronger and it would be awesome for the fans.

  6. MVG – Most Famous
    Price – World Number 1
    Wright – Most Recognisable

Then from there I think it should be players that give off the more modern sport vibe than the old man down the pub vibe. It's a different audience and I think it suits the Premier League's style

Cullen – Match dart to win it last time, he's in
Aspinall – Has found form, if it continues into 2023, get him in there
Smith – World number four, just got himself a major, has to be there
Humphries – Been on a tear, can beat anyone happily, come on down
Noppert – Similar to Luke, you know he could win it, let's be 'avin 'im

  7. Really wanted this vid – I'm surprised you put Wade ahead of Cross and Humphries. I'd definitely keep Clayton….my 8 in ORDER:- MVG, Price, Wright, Smith, Humphries, Clayton, Cross, Noppert with some more exciting alternatives eg DvD or Rock if either makes semi final…Anderson if he makes the final

  8. I think this is some thing if they brought back contenders / guests. Top 4, 3 major winners and then a series of different players. As much as I'm sure in person each week it was fantastic as a TV view I felt the mini tournament got stale really fast with just the same players every week

  9. Mvg
    Wright
    Price
    Smith
    Clayton
    Humphries
    Asp

    Then any wildcard between
    DVD
    Ross Smith
    Noppert
    Cross
    Wade
    Cullen
    Anderson
    RVB

I'd personally go Cullen, it would be cruel to reach the final and not be in it the year after…

  10. I completely agree with yout Top 4. MvG, Price, Wright and Smith will be in the PL23. wade as well as clayton are not certain for me. wade and clayton both didn't play a good year so far. of course with an semi final in WC they will be in the PL next year. if humphries plays a solid WC (quarter finals or better) he will have a seat to. so there are some other people you didn't mention. first an foremost: robb cross. he ist 6th in the order of merit and he will almost certainly gain money for the order of merit becaus he went out in the first or second round in the WC two years ago. so if he plays a good WC, maybe even better than humphries he could take over humphries in the OoM. another player, the rising star of 2022 is josh rock. he hit a 9 darter against MvG recently and obviously he has to play a fantastic WC (semi final or better), but if he achieves that, and i think this could happen, he could be in the PL.
I agree with you that the last spot will be given to the masters champion if none of the above mentioned players wins it. DvD is a showmaster, a quite advantage to play the PL in contrast du noppert. So noppert muss win the masters or play a fantastic WC to have a seat at the PL.

  11. Difficult this year as four certainties then second four or two of the second four will come from either Luke Humphries, Rob Cross, Nathan Aspinall and possibly Danny Noppert.

  12. Noppert will be in. There is no way the PDC won’t have a Dutch player in it given that they have one of the nights there, and unless Barney gets to at least the semis of the Worlds then it has to be Noppert.

  13. Price, Wright, MVG and M Smith will be in no matter what. After that it's tricky with Aspinall, Clayton, Cross, Humphries, Noppert, van Duijvenbode and Wade all having claims. Barney should be nowhere near it. Cullen;s major form isn't good enough this year.
