CHELSEA WILL WIN THE PREMIER LEAGUE BEFORE ARSENAL BECAUSE… | Team Talk Ep. 8

Over the last six years, #footballdaily has forged a reputation for sensible, stats-driven football chat.

On this show, we probably undo most of that good work…

Welcome to Team Talk – where we bring the Football Daily WhatsApp group to life!

In episode 8, we decide who is best placed to challenge Manchester City for the title moving forwards – #Arsenal or #Chelsea!

We also revisit the Golden Boy award (to right a few wrongs) and decide who – at present – is the “bigger” club…

TRIGGER WARNING: many a head are lost in this episode.

Let the fireworks commence…

  1. When was this recorded because I don’t understand how Partey has been atrocious and or our worst player😂 if Lokonga was playing instead of him we would be in a relegation battle. He has been unreal.

  2. Thiago Silva is a legend of the game and one of the greatest of all time. Saliba from what we’ve seen CAN be better if he’s still playing in 17 years. Thiago Silva’s role as of today is to sit in a 3-back and eliminate any threats and there isn’t many better than him at that in the history of our game. However, he isn’t always required to receive the ball from the keeper and make a great pass selection, clip a cross field diagonal to the wingers, play a high line, as a sweeper. They’re both elite 1 on 1 defenders and the decider for most is the fact one has been doing it for 20 years the other has been doing it for 4, so it remains to be seen. Right now I’d take Saliba as pace and pausa is on his side.

Defenders can start their careers at the elite level and fall off. RIP 11/12 Phil Jones, he was never seen again. I’m sure Saliba will come good though.

  3. A lot was being made about Arsenal’s spending before and even during this summer and now suddenly they’re minnows who can’t compete with Boehly and Chelsea? Arsenal are already in a title race and FFP won’t allow Chelsea to rebuild a whole squad faster than Arteta can make a few more squad depth signings to his already gifted first 14/15 players.

  4. Arsenal fan-I didn't watch Auba at bvb but I would release him without question. Even during his hot steak I was never convinced and wanted him sold so we could cash him on him. Giroud though while at Arsenal was always either at the top of the goals per min ratio in the league or 2nd to Ageuro, plus as already stated great enabler of other players (how many goals the team scores with said player is always more important than how many am individual scores). Also he also came on as sub and turned around games such as Wigan and Everton, Auba relief on the team performing well. And Auba won a great one a season it felt like. Anelka would be my starter though

  5. How is it a separate question when Sam brings resources and squad depth into the Arteta/Potter conversation? Of course Potter is BETTER PLACED to end man city's dominance, as his squad is better and they have more depth! Managerial ability comes into it, but the question isn't 'who's the better manager'…
