Manchester United's Ratcliffe Warns Premier League on Spending Rules

Billionaire Jim Ratcliffe, the part-owner of #manchesterunited football club, says the #premierleague risks harming itself because of complicated rules designed to prevent teams from over-spending on players. “I just think the Premiership needs to be careful it doesn’t get itself into an endless legal wrangle with lots and lots of clubs.» Ratcliffe said during an interview with Bloomberg’s Francine Lacqua. «If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”

It is very broke though. Its only set up to protect the cartel clubs

Jude Bellingham plays in Spain. The best players are not in England

SJR has no money anyway I'm sure Glazers not going to put hand in pocket

How often has he been to the North of England since his birth?

  5. Avatar de @dhul_qarnyan

This guys too honest with his answers. His relationship with the Glazers is going to be interesting 😂

  6. Avatar de @jonathancolling4712

He needs to be careful as he’s whining on far too much. But I’m all for being able to spend how much we want 😂😂

    The man talks sense. 5:39

He just does not want competition ! 'Middle Clubs' can still compete, let their owners spend what they can afford, PSR is orchestrated by clubs worried about their European places.

Smart-casual Mike Ashley. Man U fans will be begging the Glazers to re-take full control within 18 months. And how many times does he incorrectly call the league "The Premiership"?!

Jim is an absolute fool. The premier league is broken that’s why city are dominating. He doesn’t like the fact the club he has bought a stake in, will suffer from the rule changes. He wants to keep the monopoly and not let other teams compete. Then he plays the boohoo look at us card. Embarrassing.

You don't need to own multiple clubs in order to consistently send young players on loan to Nice. United used to have a partnership with Royal Antwerp for this reason. The INEOS multiclub ownership has prevented United from signing Todibo and almost prevented United from competing in the Europa League next season. Sell Nice ASAP Sir Jim.

This guy stinks. You should be allowed to cross interests across clubs. Go away money man.

    When did Meloni join Bloomberg?

  14. Avatar de @cuongtruong6043

He's a businessman, and he doesn't want to be restricted on how much he can spend. Football really isn't on his mind, it's money.

  15. Avatar de @izuaff04

salary cap should be enforced for at least 3 years before allowed to increase again….no player worth to be paid 100 mil a year….clubs could go bankrupt

  16. Avatar de @liamo7759

Madrid and Barcelona must be delighted mbappe could have ended up at city or Newcastle but for ffp nonsense

  17. Avatar de @The_Spaint

Everybody in the world follows 'The Premiership' gets name of league wrong… Take a drink every time he says 'you know'.

I can't sell players between two clubs I own… 'Boo hoo'. I can't make my own prices up. And use a proud club like Nice as a feeder club.

Also, build me a new Stadium for free, using Taxpayers money (Even though i'm a multi, multi Biliionaire).

And the richest league in the world, with shed loads of cash, just can't compete!

Talk is cheap!! Real Madrid will never ever allow rumours such as considering rubbish pie-faced SOUTHGATE circles around their club let alone to consider him as their manager. Just for United to be linked with rubbish Southgate as the new United manager under Ineos is an absolute DISGRACE!!! Even just an idea to have Southgate is absolutely disgusting ffs!!

  19. Avatar de @MaverickLee11

Man City created a monster. So sad, now everybody got to spend to even compete with them. They have dream team after dream team.

  20. Avatar de @Robert.Sheard

Rich, entitled knob. He's still salty that Newcastle won't roll over and just give him Dan Ashworth with no compensation, even after their tapping up. I hope the PIF sues him into oblivion.

  21. Avatar de @johno9761

This guy is a full of 💩 if you don’t have regulations City/Newcastle would leave everyone else in the dust so he should be careful what he asks for. Scudamore js the reason you have these corrupt owners running clubs.

  22. Avatar de @HungryEatNow

    The perfect storm 😂😂😂

  23. Avatar de @colinhamilton7204

Bottom line is he doesn’t like the rules but our club Newcastle are potentially the richest ever but can’t spend so it us who hate the rules

  24. Avatar de @colinhamilton7204

Can’t even pay Newcastle the compensation they owe them for illegally chatting up and emailing mr Dan ash worth to get him to go there he’s a joke

  25. Avatar de @Looney-toon

In the PL for 2 seconds and already telling everyone how they should be doing their jobs 🤦

  26. Avatar de @colinhamilton7204

This guy has no clue whatsoever he’s crazy

  27. Avatar de @Ay02561

In other words man city was right about the premier league and literally every other club is starting to agree.

  28. Avatar de @TheJulioGeee

Premiership? How's this bloke a billionaire lol
