Mike Graham and The Telegraph’s Jim White discuss Manchester City’s dispute with the Premier League over new rules implemented in December 2021 to ensure financial sustainability.
Manchester City, with significant ownership from Abu Dhabi, is challenging the rule about not disguising sponsorship payments as over fair market prices.
Jim White says if Manchester City wins the case, they will be able to subsidize themselves as much as they want, «making them the strongest financial entity in the Premier League».

So the Sheik isn't happy with the rules voted for by the MAJORITY of the clubs in the PL so he wants to buy his way around them. A Democratic vote has gone against City which they are having trouble understanding as there is no democracy in the UAE. It's another ploy to try and get the 115 charges cancelled. The reason behind why this cheating club are doing this now is because of the 115. If they would win this (which is slim chance tbh), they can then use it to put the same rhetoric on those charges "Well, we won this one, so the ones against us should therefore also be dropped". So basically they admit to cheating in the past, and now they want to change the rules so it fits them, so they then can also change the past.
So, in the end its City vs Football, not only the PL. They pretty much wants to dictate what rules you can and cannot have in the PL, without even listening to the other clubs. "One ring to rule them all" mentality. And if they would win this (which again i cant see) well, then PL is dead, because you have one team that rule the league.
I say, relegate them, kick them out, because this is not about football or fair competition for them, its what is best for City.

In the official premier league list of highest spending teams over the past 5 years, City are 6th.. behind Chelsea, Man United, Spurs, Newcastle and Arsenal. So City's success is not just because of money.. this is a massively important fact because it means that all this nonsense about City "buying" all their trophies is a load of crap.
