Welcome to The Athletic FC’s YouTube channel, where best-in-class journalism meets video.
In this episode, we break down Spurs’ unique approach to Premier League football.
It’s safe to say Postecoglou is committed to attack minded play – but is his style sustainable over the course of a season – or is it overly reliant on star players outperforming their underlying numbers?
Here’s what Jon Mackenzie thinks…

Don’t get the big ange hype at all. He’s not a winner.
the loss to wolves has been a long time coming. we are not attacking like ange needs us to. we aren't seeing the ball movement and the high amount of chances that come with ange ball. the players need to play fearless
As a Spurs fan I wonder if Ange ignores game state temporarily because he wants the team to change their mentality or if this is something be truly believe in. The latter is a bit concerning ngl.
Man United is statistically worse than Brentford, Everton and Bournemouth

Imo. Ange is creating Tottenham to be a real big team and that's why he's re-creating their playing identity=We always attack, no matter what is the situation. You have to look at it in the long term and not on the basis of one season, he has a project going on.
So what you’re telling me is that Tottenham are not that good. Good to know. In other news water is wet.

THAT JUST HAPPENS, OMG This explain why we lose again wolves, stress full too watch
Who else is watching this after TOT loss to wolves?
Just had this crazy idea: this video would've been really good if it was 10-15 minutes long so Jon could go in-depth with details and concrete examples. Maybe it could even be shot in a horizontal format. But that's probably just a wild and impossible idea, it would be really hard to build a fun and successful analysis channel that way…
I’ve heard Jon explain game state more than any other football term
so we lost the podcast, which now isnt uploaded to youtube at all, and then this channel got all of its tifo branding removed, and now it doesnt even upload full videos. you either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become a husk of your former self
Jonnn MACKENzieeee!!!
