I remember in my hometown of Bradford, this game was sold out in every store. I managed to get a copy from Dixon's of all places after trying three other stores. Simply because Bradford City had featured in the game for being promoted the year before! 😂😂

Great video. This game on PC was pretty awesome for it's time the commentary was more robust than FIFA 99 perhaps due being able to focus on one league, the stadiums were more detailed than what was available on other games of the time, the players had better motion capture than football ice capades of the other FIFA. If I remember correctly, the scoring exploit for this game was to get close up a certain distance to keeper and slot it to the side of the keeper for score lines of 10-2 otherwise it was almost impossible to score more than once per game.
Couldn't get it in US so had to search for it on UK Ebay when each country site was more separate from each other than it is now, but well worth.

I remember playing this as a kid and would just sit in the menus listening to the music it was amazing. When I grew a bit older I couldn’t find the ATB – till I come song as I had no idea what it was but when I eventually found it I was so happy. Great memories of this game
Funny enough, if you get through the first round of the European Cup, you face European teams! Weirdly, you can't select them in the game, though.

When I had this as a kid, I thought this was the Shit! Retro spec (no pun intended) its not that fantastic, dont know how all 20 leauge teams qualify for Europe 😂 but will always have memories

In FIFA 2001 there's a lot of Secret Teams in the DB. But we can't play them…Only if we can swap teams using FED2001 (Like Creation Master)…and there's Beşiktaş (in the game its called Istanbul), APOEL, Maccabi etc. awesome stuff.
