Why Arsenal Are Genuine Premier League Title Contenders

After 9 games into the Premier League, Arsenal sit at the top of the Premier League and are the only side to win 8 times in the competition. The Gunners have already beaten the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool – two sides hotly tipped to be Manchester City’s closest rivals this season and Arsenal have won all but one game so far this season. In short, Arsenal and Man City are in a league of their own this season but can they genuinely challenge a side coached by Pep Guardiola with the likes of Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne? Join me on the latest video on Statman Dave Clips as I explain why they could genuinely lift the title…

Arsenal biggest problem is no depth Areteta is putting out the full compliance starters in every match even against inferior opposition. On other hand City rotates players in and out of line up, resting players as a season progresses this will wear on a team. Anyone here think Arsenal cam put 90 points on table. City has average 92.5 points on table the last six seasons. Think about that for a moment over six consecutive seasons. Only Liverpool has talent to do this and they’re so disconnected this season. United looks like they’re becoming more consistent finally under ETH and New castle only has one loss and conceded fewest goals. Of the ten goals conceded three were to city in thier only loss of season to date. Which means they given up just 7 to rest of premier teams. They’re really becoming hard to play against like athletico Madrid. Strong physical play with counters and top quality set pieces.

As an Arsenal I don’t really care about the league title this season but Champions League football is a must next season.

  4. Avatar de Tahsin Sajid

Arsenal need to win the title it’s been over 20 yrs since the lift premier league trophy. They need it more than any other top 4 sides.

We Drew 3-3 against Klopp at The Emirates Stadium a few years ago.

The name is "jay sus" not "Hey sus" how can you mess it up sheesh 🙄

  7. Avatar de Martin L

There’s one reason Arsenal won’t win the league: Thomas Partey

  8. Avatar de Ryan Finnerty

Not losing at Stamford Bridge next month will be a crucial determiner of how we will fare for the rest of the season

  9. Avatar de Mariam Babirye

All I crave is top 4,the stability in the market that comes with Champions league

Take a shot every time Dave says "Genuine title contenders"

We might have the best defensive depth and quality in the Emirates era..but we don't have the depth in quality for the midfield and attack..We might drop off at the end which is understandable..I would keep an eye on Chelsea

Pls Stop all this nonsense. Deep down Everyone knows man city can win the pl this season playing in the 2nd or 3rd gear, even without haaland. Now that they've got him, need I say more? The media is just trying to create some excitement with fake narratives, so as to increase the viewership. Maybe if we signed 2 or 3 top quality players, then we could compete with city NEXT SEASON. But not this one, I can guarantee you that. Just look at the table in Jan or Feb, city would be sitting comfortably at the top by then.

Take the name "Arsenal " out of the equation. And look objectively at the facts. High intensity fit team with an identity, tactically adaptable, fluent transitions, Mentality, workrate, discipline, individual performances, one of the youngest teams in Europe and a very tactically smart Manager. Then this team is on point!

  14. Avatar de Lucio Moreira

Fingers crossed we all have weaknesses regardless how good you could be the fact man city draw yday and a red card just shows you we all humans nothing to be scared about ,just keep on moving forward and worry about our game and how we could win I think we should be fine but this is football

  15. Avatar de trevor lewatle

Exciting times indeed. We doing this without any pressure.

I bet Omari Hutchinson is seriously going to regret leaving Arsenal.

Title contenders might be a stretch for now, but it's coming, it's just a matter of time and I believe it's going to be soon
    Go gooners

  18. Avatar de Goon Er

A lot of people are suggesting Arsenal and City but let’s not forget Chelsea too. Potter is no joke and has shown he can match the top teams with his system despite having lesser players. Now he has a ready made team at Chelsea, with time I believe they can be serious contenders too.

CORRECTION: This wasn't the 1st time Arsenal have scored 3 goals against Klopp's Liverpool in the Premier League. We scored 3 goals against Klopp's Liverpool in Klopp's 1st season in charge, the 15/16 season, in the following season, the16/17 and in the season after that, the 17/18 season. So we scored 3 goals against Klopp's Liverpool in his 1st 3 seasons in charge.

The correct thing to have been said was "Arteta's Arsenal scored 3 goals against Klopp's Liverpool for the 1st time". That is CORRECT

You NEED a pop filter my guy.

  22. Avatar de Someone

We still need some depth in some areas to be real comtenders, .. But I'm proud of the team we've become

  23. Avatar de Munashe Nharaunda

As much as I would like us to win the Premier league, I feel City will slightly edge us out due to their squad depth and winning experience. Best case scenario would be 2nd, worst case would be 4th.. either way, it will be a good season for us.

  24. Avatar de JS

Another fine analysis from Statman Dave!

  25. Avatar de NewBlacksGhana

Whenever Thomas Partey is not around we will see how Arsenal will do. You people always don't give him the required credit. Teams bully Arsenal when he is not playing. I mean they lose easily, an example is the Man U game.

  26. Avatar de Rilla Than most

I don’t think arsenal will win the title as city are too strong however all arsenal need to do is keep playing well and be ready to capitalize on any mistakes city make that’s all we can do 🙌🏾

  27. Avatar de David Taylor

Why do people only mark up to 5 place now that Liverpool ain’t in top 6

  28. Avatar de Reese Prince

For me I'm not stressed in games we are losing because of two things one we find away to fight back and win and secondly even if we don't win we're still one of the youngest teams in the league and only going to get better so in my mind the long term is in good sted

  29. Avatar de Daniel Heath

we will stay on top but we will definitely drop points against city and they will likely win the league due to them having the most prolific striker at the moment and having arguably the best squad depth in the league. Additionally we lack a decent amount of squad depth so injuries will likely lose us games and drop us points but a second place finish is most likely and would be huge and every arsenal fan would love it

  30. Avatar de melvin asogu

Dave I remember watching your Arsenal review before the season began and you’ve been right on the money.

  31. Avatar de Corgan Sow

We've not even reach November yet. Arsenal's litmus test would be if key players like Partey, Odegaard, Saka and Jesus gets injured because that's where their progress gets blunted.

  32. Avatar de prasanna balaji

When we go back 5 during the last ten or fifteen minutes and the opponents posses aerial threat then we can bring in holding too for clearances

  33. Avatar de Nathan Barnes

City aren't perfect. They've already dropped points themselves!!

  34. Avatar de Neo Reign

I reckon we will go into the transfer window and get a player as a backup for Partey. Maybe a LW, Martinelli can't pay every game.

  35. Avatar de Sead Kolasinac

Dave, love the videos and your work. Just wanted to say please use a pop filter for the mic, your plosives / p sounds are coming across too strong

  36. Avatar de Malo Mapusua

Shout for 2nd and 3rd place but it will be very difficult and need a bit of luck. We are playing at our best and I feel City hasn’t even reached 3rd gear yet you can see they started of slowly but the games they playing apart from the first 2 they’re not even challenges at all like I’d be more optimistic if I could see any sort of weakness but ya just don’t with city even their bench would still beat most teams in the prem comfortably. Hope I’m wrong and they have a few hiccups along the season which they will it’s just whether we can keep up with the pace they set

  37. Avatar de Fadli Omar

Dave it simple. Thomas partey put for long time season over yt again for arsenal

  38. Avatar de honkytonk man

we would have beat city lsst season albiet b4 halland but VAR fuckedbus that day on penalties.i think pep knows how arteta thinks and he knows as a manager who took his advice at city will know this arsenal team could be cities new title rivals

  39. Avatar de George Chan

    Arsenal can do it

  40. Avatar de James Lawrence

Arsenal scored 3 against klopp in the 3-3 draw…..

  41. Avatar de Cepaess

    I love this arsenal

  42. Avatar de Ibrahim MALIK

Bro I‘m watching these on every channel hahahahah I’m lovin it ngl 😂

  43. Avatar de Denys Tarnavskyi

Maybe if we somehow stay top of the league before transfer window and buy 1-2 more world class players…
but still I don't see how we can get more points than city

  44. Avatar de Javier Landaverde

Want to give credit to the coaching staff that work with the players in set pieces, dead ball possession and corners. I think they currently rank #1 or at least top 4 in that aspect including goals.

  45. Avatar de Thomas Grippman

City are the only team to stand Arsenals way of the tittle challenge.
