HIGHLIGHTS | Everton vs Arsenal (2-1) | Premier League

We conceded a late, late goal to slip to defeat at Everton on Monday night.

Martin Odegaard gave us the lead on the stroke of half time, but the hosts levelled up the scores when Richarlison – who had seen two goals ruled out for offside – headed in.

Eddie Nketiah had a golden chance to put us back in front but hit the post, and deep intom stoppage time Demarai Gray curled in the winner from the edge of the box.

In truth, until a flurry of activity before the interval, the first half had little of any note to report other than a incident that saw Ben Godfrey boot end up in Takehiro Tomiyasu’s face.

The challenge was reviewed by VAR, but surprisingly no action was taken against the Everton man.

We were struggling to get going, and a passive display looked set to be punished when Richarlison headed in for the hosts in the 43rd minute – only to be ruled out for offside.

We took full advantage of that let-off when, seconds before the whistle Kieran Tierney – back in the team for the first time since October 18 – whipped a fine delivery in from the left and Odegaard volleyed in our opener.

It was a huge fillip just before half-time after a low-key performance, and after the restart we had another stroke of luck as Richarlison thought he had equalised – but once again it was disallowed for offside.

Back we came, and moments later Odegaard played in Gabriel Martinelli, who went round Jordan Pickford but was forced wide and his cross-cum-shot hit the top of the net.

The game became fragmented as the clock wound down, much to the frustration of the the home crowd – but eventually the hosts equalised as Gray’s curler hit the bar, and Richarlison headed in on the rebound.

We had to try to win this game all over again, and came so close to regaining the lead when Bukayo Saka stood an inviting cross up to the back post to the onrushing Eddie Nketiah, but the striker hit the post from close range.

Odegaard had a half chance as the game entered injury time, but his shot was blocked inside the area – but right at the death the hosts nicked it as Gray fired in from 20 yards.

  1. I have no media to talk to arteta but if he continues to discriminate on players and using his sense of pride,,arsenal is on the verge of loosing to so many teams,,he need to make friendship with players or quit,,,we want improvements

  2. Keep practicing. What's the Homework? 1. Learn to pass, don't make the wrong pass in a fast tempo. So that when attacking the ball flow smoothly. From behind to a goal. 2. Motivated, give mentors in the locker room to motivate them, remind them of their goals. So Ronaldo's successors won the Ballon D'Or, To be great players, They have to win to please their Parents. Give motivation. So that the mentality of inconsistent young people becomes consistent. 3. Continue to practice leg strength, so as not to get injured easily. Physical training and fitness. So that their power is strong when pressed or even pressing the opponent to create opportunities. 4. Obviously their skills must be evenly distributed in all lines. If the striker can't score goals, the winger must be smart like Mahrez (M.City) can make defenders tired of guarding him why? his brain is smart and his feet can dribble past opposing defenders with ease. Then what other skills? Long-distance kicks from outside the penalty box must be hard and directed. So what for, breaking down the opponent's defense. What other skills? Heading when there is a dead ball. Must be maximized. We have many weaknesses. And last. the reserve players, in my opinion for the reserve players, the level of the reserve players is very far from the core players. Far, far away. The reserve players are given a small portion of training. I do not know. But the substitutes, think in your brain. You have to grab a position and get a core player position. When played. It should. In 1 team, I know you are friends, you are family. But I have to have motivation I have to be a core player and take 1 position someday. So when you are given the opportunity, you will appear all out. And tomorrow you are played and will continue to perform completely. To keep your position safe. So Arsenal's level will be much improved. And those in the academy have certainty that they will move up to the core team. If you consistently play well. And expensive players, not necessarily able to continue playing. Because to be able to enter the core team. Must continue to be selected every day. Arsenal's level will be on the rise. And Arteta won't pick the wrong player again. Reserve ya are hidden super players ready to explode. Then lastly, cooperation. Communication must be built even though there is competition in the team. How can we give key passes, if you don't communicate, stay quiet, don't ask for the ball, don't be aggressive, don't look for space. You have to keep communicating, now this is built through the game, from discipline, eating together in the dining room, and please don't discriminate between reserve players and core players. So that the incoming reserve players can immediately know, and immediately fit into the core team that is playing. It must be built. A must is to celebrate the night with the team. So the reserve team can have an extraordinary level and the core team obviously has an extraordinary level. This is my suggestion. If you don't want Arteta to be fired due to the wrong choice of players.
