VAR has been so-called sort of "Match-Fixing" factor. I would suggest this match between Tottenham vs Liverpool to be forfeited and/or replay. Totally ridiculous unfair decision. Honestly there were no rough or dirty or harsh sliding tackles. No point at all to investigate after the game and no point at all to remove the official after the match, no point because all has been Game over! It takes a period, 4 years or so.
And for fouls, sometimes it is the opposition player that perform the foul, where the force and charge towards the play, you try to dive and fall.
P.S: More ridiculously is offside. How about the length of a piece of hair or finger nails margin be measured?
Lastly, let me say, "If this communication were between the pilot and the control tower, it's going to be a catastrophic!"
welcome to the gary neville podcast with this weeks guest gary neville
Liverpool inshallah will win the title this season
sacking simon hopper or making a rematch is just the best lesson for pgmol, otherwise the premier league will be abandoned by the audience!
You guys don't know anything about the problem and why replay match must be held, so I'll explain it. It's not about judgement of red card, handball or something like that, in which referee's judgement is involved and can be controversial, but by referee's call, it's decided. In this VAR case, VAR referee, who was in charge of the judgement of onside or offside, called it was onside, which means a goal, but the goal was disallowed. You know, when it comes to red card or handball, the on-field referee sometimes checks the video himself, which is the on-field check, but when it comes to onside or offside, the on field referee doesn't check it. Why not? Onside or offside is just a technical issue without human judgement involved. Just draw a line and you see. If it's onside, onside. If it's offside, offside. No human judgement involved at all like the goal line system. You guys know about the goal line system, right? It alarms the referee that it's a goal when the ball crosses the goal line. It's the totally same situation as when the goal line system calls that it's a goal but the referee disallows the goal. Can you accept it?
Gary Neville can always see every tiny thing on the pitch but cannot see human rights abuses in Qatar
how about million of people paying to watch corrutpion being the Norm ?!?
I honestly can't understand how Neville doen't think it's a red! Intent doesn't matter! At least now it's been proved it is! As for Jota one well he only has himself to blame! The offside was a disgrace though!!
In my opinion, ☆Jones was not a red card( the ref was spot on to give a yellow there as he tackled the ball and his foot had to land after rolling over the ball). ☆Diaz was onside and the goal should have stood(everyone agrees with that). ☆Jota's first yellow card should not be given(everyone agrees, I do not understand what Gary means by the ref booked him because of a foul earlier). Jota wouldn't have been sent off. ☆Some people highlighted the possible penalty for a foul on Gomez, sincerely I watched it like 20 times and couldn't see why it should be given. ☆Salah should not have a yellow because he won the ball cleanly and we could have had another goal from that attack. ☆Robertson probably should not get booked because he only had eyes for the ball while the Tottenham defender had intentionally clattered into Robertson. ☆6 minutes added time favoured only Spurs as they were fresh compared to Liverpool. Could have be 5 minutes but that's probably my Liverpool bias speaking.
Utter rubbish. You don’t slide over the top of a football unless you’re already going over it. A bad tackle is a bad tackle and intent doesn’t come into it. It was a terrible challenge and deserved a red all day long. Jota’s first yellow was for an accumulation of fouls. It was a soft one to get a yellow for but he was warned next one would get a yellow. So it did. And how stupid do you have to be to go in like he did for the second one so close to the first, and considering his team were already down to 10?? Both deserved reds for different reasons. Stop crying about it and move on. Liverpool lost the game because of two stupid red cards, not because of a bad offside decision. Human error is bound to happen at some point, even with VAR. Entitled Liverpool fans don’t think it should be at their expense.
that match was fixed.
Gary you are wrong again, Liverpool will win the tittle this year we are unstoapable force.
The red to Curtis James was 100% correct. Does he mean to hurt his opponent? I don't think so. But intent is not a part of the IFAB Laws. Serious Foul Play that endangers the safety of ones opponent is undeniable in that play. Studs over the ball, high, above the ankle and into the mid calf/shin, with force. No one wants that tackle against them. Ever. I appreciate Gary Neville's opinion on the matter, but it is not inline with the IFAB laws OR the instruction that referees are given.
Now, the offside call in this match that removed a goal from Liverpool appears incorrect. And it sounds like some procedures went wrong with the VAR process or communication between officials. That needs to be corrected and addressed. But the fact that Liverpool ended this match with 9 on the pitch is 100% on the play of James and Jota, not the officials.
A lot of heart to be 1-1 in the 98th minute of the match and get burned by an extremely unlucky own goal. That's really good football from Liverpool to get to that point.
Somebody did not want Liverpool on top, two sending offs and goal disallowed Match fixing for sure.
I'm a city fan, to say that it even got me aggravated was really something. Those decisions really seemed bias.
The whole “he wasn’t looking to do him so it can’t be a red” narrative is so silly. How many reds realistically are for players trying to hurt another player? The rules on stud contact over the ball have been there for over a decade. It’s a red. Simple
👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽
Even as a Spurs fan I could not believe my eyes, a very well worked goal, well taken and against the odds, stolen by exceptionally poor officials. Of course I am glad Spurs got the win and I love the new Spurs but I don't like to see us winning in this fashion really.
Was only really the dissallowed goal and that daft yellow without being touched was the bad decisions. Both reds are 50/50 they could go either way
Every have their on opinion about this situation and I truly understand. But my opinion could be wrong. It sadden when bias situation does the opposite and we try to define the hidden truth but even if we do find out the actual fact that does not change the result! Unless a higher power comes in and respond strongly to intervene for a rematch or revoke or allowed the goal to be given to be fair a draw. No one's talks about bribery and corruption in EPL these days, perhaps bookies pay a jolly well hefty some of pounds to get the result they want from the referees and VAR. Start blaming the referee and VAR and asking for apologies isn't enough. Make them pay for their mistake or a plan mistake. Either fine them, revoke them or get out. Millions of investment in EPL and what? Watchdog and do nothing, EPL a total joke not empowered enough to decide to do the right thing for the mistakes that happen to theses clubs. Like I say no one talks about bribe and corruption in EPL.
Someone needs sacking for that very poor decisions
Spurs punching way above their weight
can someone please explain to gary that stamping on ankles is a red card regardless of intent please. it would save alot of time in the future
Its about time well dodgy decisions went Tottenhams way. Too many years have passed with Spurs being ignored over wrong decisions including the ball over the line by a yard at Man U
We Arsenal fans, it is not news to us. We face error refereeing every season. Do you remember last season?
Great head shake at 4 mins in Gary🤣
How can he say we are not title contenders after this start? Joker.
Where's Martin?
Lol who's going to challenge for title then 😂😅
Definitely not Man Utd! Lol
Arsenal is it Gary??
Spurs with the chances they had should have won 5 3 They were the better team They were vcorrct red cards but the Diaz goal should have stood
Get on with it. Move on
I'm a spurs fan and happy with the result but i do think liverpool should make a stand for us all in regards to var. One week to the next there's uncertainty about cards , handballs and now even the offside rule . Something as to make sense at some point or scrap var altogether. We all have had wrong decisions go against us since var was introduced
I see Gary had been brought into lin red and done a massive U-turn. Gary and his unimpeachable principles.
F Liverpool. They done the 7-0 they can hold this Terrible L 😂💯
