Unai will focus on Europe, its his Nirvana! Liverpool's Gakpo n Nunez will take off after a yea settling in and will finish Top 4 no doubt! Arsenal, City, Liverpool, UTD, Chelsea with no Euro distractions! Newcastle will beat almost everyone at Home! Including Villa opener! Best we can hope for is Top 8 a domestic Cup, European Conference Semi/Final. No way can we finish Top 4 AND succeed in Europe, AND challenge for a domestic Cup! Not when Chelsea's sole focus will be Premier League Top 4! We just dont have the top quality or depth like City to compete on 3/4 fronts! I still think this is Unais first full year of experimental team building n balancing Prem/European/Domestic Cups…..its next year he"ll figure out the best way to focus. He's only just learnt that fans will NOT accept going out of even The League Cup against lower opposition without a fight is not acceptable! Lets ne honest, Unais binned the League Cup for a shot a Conference League place, and he may be forced to take similar drastic action depending on where Villa are in Prem table in relation to where we are in Europe! Unai will have no concerns playing weakened side in League Cup to focus on next Prem/ Euro game. He"ll only take League n Possibly FA Cup seriously if Villa reach 1/4 final! I think Unais would be happy to be out of League Cup very early to a Prem team than to drag it out.😂
Just need a way to protect my throat from all the singing this year 🙂
UTV
I agree Pete, feels like the best team since the early/mid nineties. UTMV!!!
Another great show. I have to disagree on the added time debate. I think we've been on the wrong end of these tactics so much over the years so to say this is a "big team" bias is incorrect. Manchester City will be winning more games than they're losing when 90 minutes ticks around so more added time for their tactical fouls and game delaying can actually benefit the teams chasing the game. I also think that added time will settle down within four weeks when teams realise they can't kick each post four times at every goal kick.
To think Villa can finish Top 4, win Conference League, or a domestic cup is delusional. It's obvious Villa will be too stretched with Conference League n Prem! Unai will focus on whatever we are last in….I'm expecting a semi final in "something"? And hopefully a Top 6 in Prem for Europa League. That still success n improvement.🤔
"How could you not start Emi Buendia"…..
Utv
At min 22 cut to today when Buendía goes down for the season 😂
Peter you are a legend, thank you for your brilliant shows. I'm old enough to remember 81 and 82 my great grandfather and grandfather were villa and my dad was at rotterdam, I feel like that kid back in the 80s excited about my club and belonging. Let's pray this season lives up to the expectations for a new generation to grab hold of and enjoyce in victory and being part of the pride. Your definitely one of us, an honoury brummie and a proper villa nut 👏 let's see some history made UTV 🇬🇧 ❤️🇨🇦
Great video Pete but alas I’ve just watched this after learning of Emi Buendia’s injury! Definitely buzzing for this season and truly hope we can shove where the sun don’t shine up the pundits with their continued sky6 bias! UTMV! 🥃
Loved this – thank you. Gutted about Buendia though. And your bit about how the media treat Villa? BANG ON.
Pete I hate to point 👉 fingers but within hours or even minutes of you saying that our injuries ,or lack of, last season wasn't sustainable……and now poor Emi is out for upto 9 months,🥲😮😢,uncanny how u even said that you were didn't want to say that word………😙 well use it as ammo and march off that pitch with 3 glorious points
Absolutely brilliant channel, great content and in my top2 3villa channels and long may it continue with your brilliant style and delivery…👏👌👍
And today we learn Buendia is out for months.
Absolutely gutted about Emi Buendia another ACL injury what's going on. Felt like this was going to be Emi's best season in a Villa shirt. Another great pod Pete enjoy them all. UTMV 🟣🔵
Thanks Pete, great show with detailed analysis as always, and a good dose of optimism. Your optimism is well-founded though and based on strong evidence.
If we can start this season in the same vein we finished last, I am optimistic as well. We have one of Europe's best managers in Emery and a squad of players that have improved dramatically under him. Obviously you recorded this show before Buendia's injury so a little adjustment is required. I think Phil Coutinho may well start on the left this weekend in the absence of Buendia, and I am backing Emery to get Phil back to near his best this season if he stays fit. I think a
big change this season could be goals from the midfield which have been few and far between for the last few seasons. If McGinn, Diaby, Tielemans, Luiz, Ramsey, and Coutinho can chip in with more than 5 goals each this season, that could seriously transform our position in the final league table, especially if
Ollie gets another 15-20. This season is certainly an exciting prospect for Villa supporters everywhere.
Great show, as always.Hope your right for us this season.Fingers crossed. Love that badge.
Top show Pete !!… gonna be a cracking season so lets buckle up and enjoy the ride UTV !!
Brilliant video. Villa I'm gonna smash the prem😮
Noooooo, You mentioned injuries on this episode. Now Emi is out.
Okay…so I am struggling to listen to your wonderful analysis because you have been TANGOED! Why are you soooooo 🍊 orange? Still, I will do my best not be so distracted 👌 UTMV Pete! Love it! Mary UK
Well Buendia is not gonna start for a long time 😢
Another great show Pete I'm really looking forward to the Newcastle game. UTV
Buendia out for the season. ACL and MCL
Doesn’t look like Emi.B is an option now Pete 😢
We do really need a number 9.
No way that man's 82. Top job lads. U.T.V.
Love the show !! Hate to bring bad news Emi Buendia out for the season damaging ACL in training 🙁
I'm a little uneasy about the sale of Aaron Ramsey. Especially now that Buendia has picked up an ACL injury. UTV though.
Beundia out for season. And here we go again.
Extremely excited for the season, slightly knocked back by today's news about Buendia being out injured for the season, not great for a player who is a definite big cog in our squad.
Need to bring in a replacement ASAP, sounding like Zaniolo is the man.
Great pod again UTV
Top content as always 🙌🏻
I'm very confident and excited for the season ahead to the point that I'm actually nervous because as a villa fan you're never this confident 😅 UTV great video as always
Totally behind you and would be over the moon with 6th above would be amazing
Come on you lions 💥💥💥💥💥💥🤞🤞
Great content again Pete!
