Actually despite the jokes in reality Chinese super league is not popular in China, the European leagues are far more popular there (relative speaking though, football as a sport is actually not popular)

I can remember the CSL was the biggest threat to European football when the Chinese thought they could pay European players double triple the amount of wages to get them into there league what happened to that I can remember 4/5 players leaving one summer and then everyone forgot about it did they just run out of money or just gave up
