Just amazed that we had that much qaulity at 16 play the last part of the season with players who could hardly strike a match well.done rangers for getting rid of an out and out goalscorer wow
Its not great spending all your money time and effort on someone for 8 years then when it may be time for him to be promoted to the first team and make a name for himself and get sold returning millions he cuts and runs, no loyalty in football.
It's criminal the amount of young talent we are now off loading to the English premiership considering they will never probably feature in their starting eleven or full squad for that matter. I know money talks as they say but where is the logic in all of this considering the amount of money that we need to splash out on to buy mediocre players in from the continent, when we have so much potential home grown talent that would play their socks off week in week out. And then perhaps a few years down the line when they have proved themselves we can sell them on for a good profit once they have established themselves in the spl.
Who cares, far too much media attention on what is still only a youth player. Sooner he’s gone the better.
Sevco are finished, can't compete with the big clubs , massive debts, great support that needs to be treated properly .sign of the times tho .. Celtic not much better position tbh .. Scottish football ? European teams … recent old firm games looked like ANC teams ..no Scots on the pitch
Smart move HH
See – Rhys McCabe, who you ask? Exactly!
"I'd like to thank Rangers for giving me free training, health support, surgery if needed, nutrition and all round world class development, in saying goodbye I'd to say "F**k You" in terms of "MONEY". Cheers. x
Took ten years of our resources and then jumped ship, f**k you, see you on the bench at Altrincham…
hes got not a hoping hell he will get into that first team at villa theres to much high enders already in the first team and they will either sell there stars and go for bigger fish that let the youth in from a b team
rangers are letting there youth seep through there fish nets and go back into the ocean to be never seen again we have lost more than we have bargained from in those youth players but look at the situation with patterson he could have been a back up for tav if injured punt him out on loan but not sell him whats going to happen with king and lowry they are also going to slip through the net also theres petential with these young guns but rangers seriously need to tighten the helm and stop them from leaking out back into the sea it only ends 1 way with these players and it ends in desaster down south because they teams just have so much money to spend each year they could have more than we have in winning the league and they dont have to win the league to get more than us in money also they have more money in the club than we do and spend millions on top talent each season what if wilson cant hack it down south he will be greetin he wants back up the road didnt work out for him well tuff shit mate you made your choice theres no coming back to ibrox for those who leave
i seriously dont understand why young talent want to go down south because like gilmore and patterson does not get game time everton payed 12m fur f all for a player whos doesnt play gilmore went down south also to chelsea for cheap and went on to make aloat of money and we also didnt see a penny of him now we are seeing the same thing with wilson we wont see a penny from him also what a waste of talent going down south its greed that gets catches your eye and you think your going to get game time in the first team well sorry the only way is never up down south its always down look at gilmore he plays for norwich relagated team he is only going to go one way and thats down patterson will be the same its a shame to even let these young players go down to england because there eyes are bigger than there belly and they see all this money money money what they going to win down there sweeeeeet fuckkkkkk allllll when we get players from england its a totally different story because we make money from them and sell them on for more than there worth
how much hope we get a hefty pay check for his departure
Fair enough, that talented he wasn’t getting a sniff
Big big mistake that boys career will stand still now and when he sees whats in store for him and he wants to come home i wouldn't let him come back the wee Billy big baws enjoy yeŕ loan moves in the 3rd divisions clubs playing junior style football cause you won't get EFL games.
Mon the Gers,WATP
Say pardon me when you burp ye dirty hun.
So sad to see yet more youth going from the team. I don't see him getting in the first team for them any time soon. But I hope I am wrong. Wish the boy all the best.
So much for loyalty.
Rangers need to do a better job of retaining their top youth players, as part of a structure where the youth can see a pathway into the first team. This is the next and most difficult part of the Rangers transfer strategy, to keep blooding the youngsters and getting them minutes on the pitch. They need contracts that reflect their long term value to the club, which is difficult because at that age there are no guarantees of outcome. Maybe a graded performance based contract, measured against their peers.
If rangers can successfuly trade first team players and replace them with quality youth then this will create the right environment and at the same time provide a better level of contract to support the youth elite at the club, all while still winning. This can be managed more easily at games at Ibrox where the team are ahead by a few goals and the manager can blood the youth into a winning team environment where they get positive minutes at least risk before being fed-in to participate in more high pressure matches once their experience improves and their level of performance can be relied upon.
This is a work in progress and unfortunately until the system beds-in we may still lose the odd one or two like Billy 'Happy' Gilmore and who know's Rory Wilson but in time this is the best way forward.
It is extremely rare that teenagers can maintain a sufficiently high level of performance to play in the EPL every week and Billy 'Happy' Gilmore can testify to that, despite his predijous talent and it remains to be seen whether Rory will be able to buck this trend. The odds are less favourable than if Rory had stayed at Rangers, especially as it is more likely that he will now be subject to several loans to clubs at a lower level than Rangers to build up his experience before being considered for the Aston Villa first team.
3 Departures and not incoming's
I think the talented Scottish youth players would be better off staying in Scotland, where there's a better pathway to playing senior football.
What's the rush to leave at the age of 16?
Rory Wilson won't be playing senior football at Villa any time soon.
He's clearly a prodigious talent.
If he stayed at Rangers, he could make his mark, and eventually receive a lucrative deal from an EPL team.
It would be a real shame if he ends up languishing in the Villa reserve team, and then becomes a journeyman loan player plying his trade in the English championship.
Young players want to follow their dream to play at the highest level, and so another future star is lost to Scottish football.
All the best Rory! ⚽
