Premier League's Biggest Spenders EVERY Season

From free-spending Blackburn Rovers, who were bankrolled by local multimillionaire Jack Walker during the inaugural 1992-93 season, to Sheikh Mansour’s billions flooding into Manchester City from 2008 onwards, HITC Sevens takes a look at which team spent the most money on transfers in every single Premier League season.

This is a great video. Combines nostalgia with an insight with how the Premier League developed. Top Man!

Does Association Football have a salary cap?

Yeah. Sorry but it's doesn't matter how good this video may be. Stopped it when you said 'multi' in the American way. It really doesn't sound clever. Sigh! Many thanks anyway. Good luck and good health.

In the season you mention Liverpool being the biggest net spenders, I would just like to caveat that by mentioning that the January before they sold Coutinho for £140 million meaning they actually made profit from these signings the season after.

Nice to see you use the photo of fat neck with the Man Utd line up in the champions league that year. #advent3greatestbandinmanchesterbehindcabbage

The Ticket prices in the premier league have risen alot more than inflation as well.I remember going to Villa Park in 1991 and paying £6 ( The away end) My mate was complaining about the Price back then Lol thought it was a Rip off

10:20 how much did the guy on far left cost Utd?? ?

Kind of omits that Utd were the highest spenders through most of the 80's. The 1990 FA Cup squad was the most expensive squad ever assembled. They also spent very heavily in the 90's. I'd question the 94-95 season as they spent 8m on Cole alone.

Want to make something of a correction here. You introduced the arrival of Mancini and then said what players were bought that season. This creates the impression that they were Mancini's signings but Tevez, Adebayor, Lescott, Roque Santa Cruz, Kolo Toure and Barry were all signed by Hughes. Mancini arrived in December and spent only £7m on Adam Johnson in the January window, with Vieira, Sylvinho and Stuart Taylor arriving on frees.

    Liverpool and net spend ??

So basically Manchester City and Chelsea buy the title every year, with an occasional spending spree from Manchester United. Financial Fair Play is a joke.

Football was ruined in the early1960s when the maximum wage was abolished.

Why use derogatory language when talking about City’s spending but not others?

Damn Everton have been spending their money really badly ever since the inception of the Premier League era….very disappointing as they could’ve done a lot better
