Interesting Mark makes the point "couldn't wait to get the red card out", if we cast our minds back to the season before last, Arsenal away at Wolves, Gabriel Martinelli gets 2 yellow cards in the same sequence of play and the referee can't get the red card out quick enough, guess who the referee was….Michael Oliver. Now here's the thing, has anyone ever seen that scenario before or since. The other point is the player doesn't know he's on a yellow card until the game is stopped so how does he know not to commit the 2nd offence? He doesn't so it's grossly unfair on the player.
The refereeing in the PL is shocking but tribal fans just want to poke fun at other clubs misfortune instead of presenting a united front against the issue. The clubs also should have a vote of no confidence in the PGMOL as they are basically taking away the integrity of the competition.
The number of weird decisions Michael Oliver has made against Arsenal over the years just keeps piling up and up. When I see he's refereeing an Arsenal game I now think "What's he gonna do to us this week?"
